Can I train with you if I have never worked out before?
YES! One of the benefits of the programs I offer is they are customized to your current fitness level and your goals. After your health and fitness assessment is performed at the initial consultation, an achievable workout plan will be customized to your current fitness level and your fitness goals and objectives.
What about equipment?
I will bring all the equipment you need into your home or workplace. This may include but is not limited to: weights, exercise ball, BOSU ball, resistance bands, medicine balls, body bars, step, yoga mat, and gliding discs. If you wish to purchase equipment for your home, we can work together to find the right pieces for you.
What can I expect when I call you?
When you call we will first set up an appointment for our initial consultation. At our initial consultation we will do an initial health and fitness assessment, discuss your fitness goals and plan a course of action to help you meet those goals. On our first meeting we will be doing a light workout so it is recommended that you wear workout clothes.
How many days a week do I need to train with you?
I recommend my clients work out at least 3 days per week. The amount of days you train with me is dependent on your goals, motivation, commitment and budget. This is something that is individualized and will be discussed at the initial consultation.
What about payment?
Payment is required upon completion of training session. Cash or check only please.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
If you need to cancel, you must do so at least 12 hours before your scheduled session to avoid being charged.
Can I work out on my own?
YES! Once we start working out together I guarantee you will feel more comfortable working out on your own. I will provide you with exercise ideas, homework sheets for workouts on your own, and teach you correct form for suggested exercises you may want to try out at your home or gym.
I am pregnant, is it safe to work out?
YES! Getting regular exercise during pregnancy is so beneficial. Many women who exercise experience shorter recovery times, less weight gain, shorter active phase of labor, less pain, more energy and fewer obstetric interventions.
In addition to being a certified personal trainer, I have completed additional training in the areas of prenatal and postpartum exercise design and safety.
I am nursing, is it safe to work out?
YES! Once you get clearance from your physician that you are able to start exercising (6 weeks is normal), a special post part um program will be created. This program will focus on gradual weight loss while strengthening your core, pelvic floor and back.
How do I know if my space is adequate?
During the consultation I will look at your space and determine if it is adequate for training purposes. I have found a way to make most spaces work, and you will be surprised at what fitness potential your home holds! During the summer the backyard and driveway are great places to work out.
