So I am just realizing it has been over a month since I have written. Totally unacceptable in my opinion. So just to show you that I have not been sitting around, eating ice cream and floating on a raft (although that sounds pretty nice right about now) I am giving you an August update. Which I cannot believe is almost over. How bittersweet. I am a summer lover. I was born in July, my fav place is the beach, and shorts and flip flops are my kind of attire. Not to mention how much easier it is to stay fit and motivated with 14-15 hours of daylight and the ability to get outside to sweat. As August comes to a close I can’t help but feel like it was a blur. Let’s recap..

Here I am with 2 of my original Tuff Girls at “Pumped Up in Pumps” class & girls shop night at lululemon athletica in New Haven. (In case you have not heard yet, I am one of their ambassadors – what an honor right???- and regularly run classes in their showroom.) On this Friday night we donned or hottest, highest heels for a killer lower body workout/dance party. We steamed up the windows, strutted our stuff, and dipped and squatted, all while burning calories, re-shaping our lower half, and having a LOT of fun. Britney who?

Next up, Doran family vacation to Narragansett, RI. Seven days of beach bliss, and lots of ice cream, cocktails and donuts too. We had a wonderfully relaxing time playing on the beach, enjoying dinners out, and just being together. Liv enjoyed the beach … after 2 days of trying to get the sand out of her toes. The last day we were there she was running at the waves, full speed ahead.

I ate a lot of things I usually don’t. My girls loved hearing I came home four pounds heavier. Yes, I do gain weight. Yes, I am human. It took me a week to put it on, and a week to take it off. But (I think) it was worth it?
While we were there we got some exciting news…

Above you will see the logo for my fitness studio. Yes, it is REALLY happening! The day we arrived home from vacation we signed the lease for 60 Connelly Parkway in Hamden. I am so excited that this 2600 training facility will be our new home, and where you can continue to get fit and healthy. More classes, more equipment, more fun! Tentative opening date is October 2, but that will all depend on how quickly the work gets done.

Changing rooms need to be built, bathroom needs to be gutted and updated, drywall needs to be hung, paint needs to be applied, mirrors and a floor need to be installed, electric, lighting and fans updated … but it will all get done. This has been a dream of mine since I was fourteen. I am so excited it is happening, and look forward to sharing it with all my Tuff Girls. Take a minute to look at the logo. Notice anything about the B? Does it look like half a butterfly to you? I always talk about transforming… now each time you look at the logo you will think of YOUR transformation. It continues!
And so, as August comes to a close we head into September with lots going on. I am sad to say goodbye to summer, but excited to what the fall will bring!
Keep Sweating,
Christa
